Charlottesville, VA (August 17, 2021) - The Club Champions League is excited to announce the hiring of Ryan Godwin as the Social Media Director. Godwin officially started in his role on July 1, 2021. Godwin will lead the daily social media platforms, assist with marketing material, serve as a liaison between local media markets for the league and enhance the current partnerships and other leagues social, partner and marketing initiatives. 

Godwin is a graduate of Roanoke College with a Bachelor’s of Science in Sports Management. Godwin joins the CCL staff after a two year stint with the organization. Godwin joined CCL in the Fall of 2020 as a Media Intern. After his 6 month internship finished Godwin stayed on as a part time Event Staff member in addition to assisting with social media and marketing.  Ryan has a strong background and love for the game and the CCL is excited to have him joining our staff in a larger role where we know he will have an impact. Additionally, Ryan currently works for Salem Parks and Recreation as well as a staff member for VBR Star, and is the Assistant Varsity Coach at Salem High School. Godwin’s experience also includes working with soccer organizations such as iSoccerPath, and Salem Sabres Soccer Club. 

“I’m really excited to be in a job where there are opportunities to grow professionally as well as be a part of a league that is growing into a national platform. Looking forward to continuing to show how great this league is,” Godwin stated.

As a league and leading organization in the industry we want to continue to bring in professional, and experienced staff members.  Ryan is the reality of what our internship program is looking to do, and we believe through his internship with the CCL, Ryan has really been able to identify what aspect of the game he enjoys and has started to develop a career behind this passion” Owolabi continued.
